About us

excelsa Fundraising was founded by Katy Astley in 2009.

Katy developed a comprehensive range of fundraising experience while working full-time in the charitable sector.

During her time at Clare College, Cambridge, Katy played a key role in raising Major Gifts for the New Building Campaign. She also ran the Clare Annual Fund and the Legacy Campaign.

At Fauna & Flora International, Katy managed the Individual Giving Programme, where she had responsibility for developing and implementing the fundraising strategy.

At Christ's College, Cambridge, Katy ran a busy programme of events for the College's Quincentenary Year.

Before her career in fundraising, Katy trained as a tax accountant. She has a detailed understanding of developing budgets, financial reporting, and charitable tax law.

Katy completed the Institute of Leadership and Management Award (Level 5) in July 2009.

Katy has a first class degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.

In her spare time, Katy enjoys listening to classical music, walking her dog, cooking, and serving on the Events Committee of her local church.
